What it actually is

Derila Ergo is a molded, butterfly-shaped pillow measuring 21.3 by 14.2 by 4.7 inches and weighing 36.9 ounces, made from polyurethane memory foam the listing describes as 100%. The design uses five separate contour zones meant to cushion the neck while lightly pressing into it, and it comes with a removable, machine-washable cooling cover. A companion item, the Derila Side Sleeper Pillow, is sold in a standard and a "plus" size for people who sleep on their side.

The maker markets it as something that cradles the head, shoulders, and arms while giving the neck a light massaging effect during sleep or travel. The listing also states the foam is CertiPUR-US certified — a third-party foam-safety program that checks for things like heavy metals and certain flame retardants.

Where the paper trail gets weaker

We tried to confirm that CertiPUR-US claim against the certifier's own list of approved products and could not match it there, so we're flagging it as unverified rather than treating it as confirmed. That doesn't mean the claim is false — it means we found no independent record backing it up.

More concerning is what the consumer group CHOICE in Australia documented about the checkout flow: extra pillows were reportedly added to the cart automatically before a customer completed a purchase — as many as four when paying by credit card and two when paying through PayPal — without a clear, unmistakable opt-in. CHOICE also found a "limited stock" countdown clock on the page that reset itself instead of running out, which is the kind of manufactured urgency regulators tend to flag. CHOICE filed a formal complaint with Australia's competition and consumer regulator, the ACCC, in 2024, and reported that the same checkout behavior was still showing up more than a year afterward.

The Better Business Bureau listing for the seller carries a 1-out-of-5-star customer average, with a recurring complaint theme of shoppers being billed for items they say they never placed an order for. We're not able to say how the pillow's underlying construction relates to these billing practices — they appear to be separate problems, one about the product and one about how the checkout charges you — but both are real enough that a shopper should know about them going in.

We also can't give you a price here: the figure shown at checkout shifts often enough, and the cart-padding issue above makes any single number misleading, that quoting one would do more harm than good.
